What you can learn from the picture of the woman in the mirror is that reality is flexible; it is subject to interpretation and revision. The way you perceive something and the way someone else perceives that same object or situation can be completely different, but both are correct.

How does this fit in with aging? As a society, we are beginning to view aging differently than we did 10 or 20 years ago; it is more flexible and open to interpretation. Adults over 50 are more vital than ever before. It is no longer a given that as we age, our mental sharpness and physical mobility will get worse. Most importantly, we don't have to accept that as time goes on, we decline.
